The victim was the new girlfriend of her ex-partner, Albury Local Court has heard.
Magistrate Richard Funston said it was as if Lavington woman Sandra Coombes, who pleaded guilty to assault and intimidation, was also "totally bored" by her prosecution
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It's just so hard to read," he said, before repeating his observation of her angry demeanour.
"It's all about respect to the court."
Coombes, 33, stormed out of court after Mr Funston asked defence lawyer Mitchell Brooks to provide documented proof of his client's claim she launched the assault because of money going missing from her bank account.
Mr Brooks had submitted that Coombes' ex-partner took her mobile phone, which was then used to transfer money into the victim's own account.
Mr Funston initially considered the claims "rubbish" though said he'd be happy to apologise if Coombes' claims turned out to be correct.
On returning to court after a short adjournment, Mr Brooks submitted that there had actually been such a transfer identified on Coombs' phone.
Mr Funston said this "still doesn't deserve a kick in the head".
"What's going on with Ms Coombes? I mean, this is a pretty nasty assault," he said.
Coombes went to a North Albury home the victim, 32, was staying at on August 3 about 2.45pm.
She asked her for clothing belonging to her ex-partner, threatening: "You're lucky I don't stab you."
As the victim leant over to get clothes off a bed, Coombes punched her twice to the face.
She fell to the floor, then Coombes stood on the bed and kicked her twice to the head.
Coombes left and the victim called police.
Mr Funston imposed a 12-month community corrections order on Coombes, who must complete an anger management program.
