Goal shooter Amanda Umanski missed the Pies' clash against Yarrawonga on the weekend due to the restrictions.
After moving to Melbourne last year for work and study, Umanski had been commuting back home to play for the reigning premiers this season.
"She's had a rough trot of it, but she seems to be coping ok," Wangaratta playing coach Kellie Keen said.
"We've had a couple of zoom training sessions where she's come on, but she just wants to be a part of it."
The Pies have been forced to look at different combinations in goals to play alongside Keen, but Umanski's height is hard to replace.

Rachelle Petts stepped into goals against the Pigeons on the weekend, as well as B-grade addition Grace Patterson.
"I've had her (Patterson) on the bench from time to time, but she has a back injury we're trying to manage," Keen said.
"She stepped on in the last quarter and played brilliantly.
"Who knows what will happen in the next few weeks, but we have options there which is good."
Umanski has scored 333 goals this season and has averaged around 33 goals per match.
Melbourne is now set to be in lockdown for at least another fortnight.
