AN Albury councillor has told NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian that his city's citizens are suffering "because of your incompetence and arrogance".

David Thurley's email followed all of regional NSW going into a COVID lockdown.
"Right now Premier I am very angry," he wrote.
"Six weeks ago you had a case in Sydney but between you and our Prime Minister you decided to play politics by pretending that you and NSW were somehow different and a lockdown was not needed.
"You continued with this attitude while imposing vague and unenforced restrictions.
"Here in Albury I watched unmasked people in Sydney on beaches, in shops while we here in Albury wore our masks and used check-in codes at a high level.

"The cases continued to climb and spread across the state and you still failed to act in a decisive manner.
"We have no cases here but we suffer because of your incompetence and arrogance."
Cr Thurley said he wrote out of frustration that the Border was now "paying for the sins of Sydney".
His colleague mayor Kevin Mack was more understanding of the lockdown.
Asked on Monday by Prime7 news reporter Helen Ballard if it was an "ambush by the NSW government?", he replied: "I think COVID is ambushing them every day, I think that's more the point."
"We need to respect that and do what we can," Cr Mack added.
He urged community members to get vaccinated this week to show the government the community was doing the right thing.
On the law front, Murray River police district commander Superintendent Paul Smith warned people to follow stay-at-home rules or face being fined.
He said vehicles travelling south on the Hume Highway at Woomargama and along the Newell and Cobb highways were stopped on Monday to ensure drivers were complying with rules limiting their movement.
