Wodonga firm Premier Building and Construction has won a tender for the project which is a prelude to the development of a new emergency department.
A dining, lounge and kitchen will be built to replace an existing staffroom which is to become a locker area.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Construction, which is due to end in December, will be at the rear of the emergency department with patient services to be unaffected.
Premier general manager Anthony Baker said his company was pleased to be working with Albury Wodonga Health after having worked on an upgrade of staff facilities at Wodonga's hospital.
"We recognise the real benefits and value these types of projects will have long term for the entire community, particularly during these challenging times," he said.
