The Greens are top of the ladder on goal-difference, with the season on pause, having beaten Wangaratta 2-1 in their last game.
"With them being number one at times and us being number one at other times, it's given us something to fight for," United striker Melkie Woldemichael said.
"Maybe we're playing the bottom team but we're still going at it as if we're playing Wang.
"We have to give that perspective into the game.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"We need to win games by as much as we can because we know what Wang are doing.
"They might be giving the same speech so it's giving us that fuel in fighting the whole year."
Woldemichael has scored 14 league goals in his first season at the club.
"Going up forward gave me that luxury to see if I love playing again because that was my original position," he said.
"I've found the passion again, which is amazing."
