Member for Benambra Bill Tilley is leading a call to make the arrangement permanent after 708 doses were administered last Friday.
The previous highest daily number of jabs was 637 on August 12.
"What we saw on Friday was proof that people are crying out for some greater access to the vaccines," Mr Tilley said.
"I know it was a one-off, but I think it really should be made permanent.
"What we're hearing in our office is that workers, people who are entitled to go to work at the moment, can't make that 8am till 4pm window for the vaccine hub.
"I think Friday proved there are people out there who go after hours."
Seven days earlier there were 579 jabs put in arms at the Wodonga hub with the daily number nudging 600 all last week.
"If we can keep the vaccine hub open till 8pm and get the same sort of turnout as Friday we would be at 70 per cent within a matter of weeks," Mr Tilley said.
"I'd also like to see a face-to-face booking service over at the vaccine hub. People are contacting us saying the COVID booking line is constantly busy and the portal problematic."
MORE COVID COVERAGE
Albury Wodonga Health has made no decision on extending hours on a permanent basis.
NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro said yesterday his state needed to improve the way it told citizens where to obtain vaccines.
"It's got to be something we do better," he said.
"I know, every so often, we advertise when we have spare availability (and) we get it out quickly, but Health does that on a very short notice and a lot of people sort of miss it.
"We've got to do that better."
Meanwhile, Federation Council has agreed to take part in an expanded wastewater testing program in the state.
Last week NSW Health invited Federation to participate in the program with the inclusion of Corowa and Mulwala.
Sampling will be conducted twice weekly commencing September 7 at both the Corowa and Mulwala sewage treatment works.
Sample analysis will be undertaken by Sydney Water Laboratory Services and results published in the COVID-19 weekly surveillance reports.
