Albury Council revealed on Wednesday, the delivery of vital components needed to upgrade the pool filter units had been pushed back due to COVID restrictions.
In a statement council said the opening of the centre had been postponed until September 25, COVID restrictions permitting.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We hope to open the centre as quickly as possible and will keep the community informed as works continue," it said.
"We thank Albury Swim Centre patrons for their understanding as we work through the challenging circumstances presented by the pandemic."
It's hoped the upgrade will be able to be completed later this week after which pool management Aligned Leisure will start the three-week process to balance the water.
No events were scheduled during the affected week.
The Lavington Swim Centre is expected to open as planned on October 5.
