A national truck rollover risk map and a campaign to encourage driver power naps are among a new round of road safety projects set to receive federal funding.

Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Barnaby Joyce said the latest round of the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative would inject $5.5 million into programs to help save lives and reduce road trauma.
There are 28 projects in the latest round.
"Our government is focused on ensuring road users stay safe and arrive at their destination every time they get behind the wheel," Mr Joyce said.
The Australian Road Research Board will use its funding to develop a national truck rollover risk map, which will identify and eliminate high-risk locations on the road freight network.
The regional NSW councils of Orange and Cabonne Shire plan a behaviour change campaign, encouraging power naps and pointing out the early warning signs of driver fatigue.
Roadwizard Pty Ltd is developing an navigational app incorporating routes, rest stops, truck parking, petrol stations, food services and a vehicle pre-check.
The grants program has to date provided $28 million to 117 projects across six rounds.
National Heavy Vehicle Regulator chair Duncan Gay said the program was delivering tangible improvements to heavy vehicle safety.
"The program brings the community, government and industry together to deliver on a shared goal of safer drivers, safer vehicles and safer road use for all Australians."
