A Border health service's care of vulnerable patient groups has been honoured by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Gateway Health Wodonga is this year's Victorian RACGP General Practice of the Year.
"Gateway Health have truly gone above and beyond for their patients and contributed to the health of communities in North East Victoria, I cannot think of a more deserved winner," RACGP president Karen Price said.
Gateway Health's Sharon Johnson said the practice took pride in supporting people who might be at risk of stigmatisation and required specialised care.
"We have two specialist sexual health nurses and a refugee nurse, and we were the first provider of gender-affirming care for gender diverse young people outside of a capital city in Victoria," Dr Johnson said.
Gateway Health chief executive Leigh Rhode said the practice was "pleased and proud" to win and be in the running for the national award.
"To be recognised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in this way is a great credit to our GPs, nurses, receptionists and the whole team as they really do go 'above and beyond' to make sure our patients get the services they need," she said.
