Previously trained by Norm Loy, Takissacod was having her first start for Scott and was resuming from a 23-week spell.
Ridden by Nick Heywood, Takissacod parked just off the speed and proved too strong over the final furlong in the $35,000 TAB Federal Benchmark 75 Hcp, (1200m).
Adding further merit to the win, Takissacod had never being placed previously when resuming on four occasions.
Scott said Takissacod was more than capable of running a cheeky race in The Kosciuszko if given the opportunity.
"She has been going well in track work but I couldn't declare her today for her owners because her previous form first-up says to stay away," Scott said.
"But she was fairly wound up after a few trials, had a nice gate and makes her own luck by racing on the pace."
Takissacod stamped herself as a more than handy sprinter-miler last preparation.
The five-year-old mare ran third in a blanket finish in the SDRA Country Championship Qualifier to narrowly miss making the lucrative final.
She the won the Corowa Cup and was narrowly beaten in the Albury Mile on the opening day of the Albury Gold Cup carnival.
Scott said she would aim for a city win at some stage this preparation.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"Those TAB Federal's are notoriously hard races to win so she has come back in good order," she said.
"She also had to lump the big weight of 61.5kg which was far from ideal but we just needed a stepping stone going forward.
"I know there are a few spots left in The Kosciuszko if any slot holders are interested and she has got a fair bit of improvement in her this preparation.
"The owners would really love to get that city win under her belt his preparation and that's the aim.
"Being a mare she has a future in breeding and is related to Rocket Tiger who raced in the Golden Slipper this year for Wagga trainer Scott Spackman."
