Part-owner Allan Endresz recently ruled out racing over the Melbourne spring carnival with his star galloper due to the logistics associated with Racing Victoria's COVID protocols.
Endresz said Alligator Blood would now bide his team and be at peak fitness for the Magic Millions carnival in January under new trainer Bill Healey.
The five-year-old won a trial at Doomben last week but will now have a freshen-up ahead of a campaign in his home state culminating in the Magic Millions Cup.
"We have had a complete rethink about racing over the spring," Endresz said.
"He pulled-up in terrific order after winning the trial last week both physically and mentally.
"But Bill was of the opinion that it would be too rushed to have him at peak fitness for any of the spring features.
"So we have decided to take a patient approach and build him up slowly for the Magic Millions carnival.
"So he will head to the paddock for two weeks for a freshen-up.
"Then its two weeks of beach work before having two races before the Magic Millions carnival, one being The Buffering at Eagle Farm.
"His grand final will be the Magic Millions Cup which is a $1 million race."

Endresz said Alligator Blood could campaign in Melbourne over the autumn.
"It's a bit disappointing not to be targeting races like the Cox Plate and The Epsom," Endresz said.
"But there is always next year."
