It's provided a massive boost for Albury's Albion Hotel, which has three function rooms and a rooftop bar to host events.
"It's great for the industry and we're looking forward to welcoming more people back to our venue," manager and licensee Rachelle Brady said.
"It's been well over two months since we've had a function, so we'll be able to offer our staff more hours and they're excited to be back at work.
"We've had several enquiries over the last couple of weeks asking if restrictions will be eased, but we're obviously following the NSW government guidelines.
"We're excited we can confirm and lock those weddings and functions in."
Trish Feuerherdt, of Orange Grove Gardens at Culcairn, said the increase will allow her venue to reach two thirds of its capacity.
"Our capacity is only 150 anyway and 50 is our minimum, which is what we do our costings on," she said.
"We were 85 (people) as of Monday, but now we're at 100 so it makes it a little bit easier if people don't need to cut guest numbers if that's where their numbers sit."
But the biggest challenge for Ms Feuerherdt is ensuring guests are vaccinated.
"The last wedding I held, they were all vaccinated and I believe most of them have made those calls themselves," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Feuerherdt said she is fortunate to be in NSW as weddings remained capped at just 10 people in Victoria.
"I feel for people on the Victorian side because at least two thirds capacity is a reasonable number for us," she added.
Thurgoona's Ponderosa Events has been the beneficiary of tougher restrictions in Victoria with its first wedding of the season later this month shifted from south of the border.
"It's really sad that it's to the detriment of other venues in our region that happen to be on the wrong side of the restrictions," host Jo Barton said.
"As much we wouldn't like to be taking away their clients, it's nice we can actually help couples getting married to be able to still follow their plans to a certain extent.
"The wedding we have at the end of October was going to be 50 guests, so it will be interesting to see if they want to open it up to more guests.
"What I'm finding with a lot of clients is it has changed their thinking towards smaller scale celebrations and having their closest their rather than having to invite everyone."
