He replaces Greg Dawson who recently retired from the position and officially finished in the role last Friday.
Dawson will still lend a helping hand in the coming weeks until Arendarcikas starts on November 3.
Arendarcikas said he was thrilled to land the position and has been passionate about local football and the Ovens and Murray from a young age.
"Im looking forward to it," Arendarcikas said.
"I was talking to David Sinclair and Craig Millar during the interview process and telling them how I've pretty much been involved with the O&M my entire life.
"I played juniors in the competition, was an assistant coach and most recently was involved in the broadcasting with 2AY.
"So I feel that I have got a good grasp of a lot of the key stakeholders within the league.
"I knew Greg Dawson previously and have always got along with him well.
"Once I saw that Greg retired it really sparked my interest in the role.
"Like everybody, I've been a bit disheartened by what COVID has done to country football the past couple of seasons and I sort of asked myself what can I do to help?
"I just want to help out David and his board and Craig as much as I can in getting the competition back to where it needs to be."

League general manager Craig Millar said Arendarcikas was clearly the standout applicant.
"We had a fantastic response for the role from our advertising," Millar said.
"We hand more than 40 inquiries and 25 applications in the end.
"From that we interviewed four candidates and Kane was the preferred option."
Millar said Arendarcikas' involvement in the local community tipped the scales in his favour.
"What stood out with Kane's application and his interview was his passion and enthusiasm for the competition," he said.
"Kane has a strong presence in the community and has been heavily involved in cricket and more recently in a media capacity with 2AY.
"He is also a member of our match review panel.
"So he has got a thorough knowledge of the competition which was a key factor in Kane getting the job."
Arendarcikas said he had big shoes to fill in replacing Dawson.
"It's fair to say Greg was a workaholic," he said.
:"I feel like taking on the role after Greg is a bit like coming on stage after The Beatles have just played."
