Agents Stean Nicholls sold both Palm Drive and another East Albury home built in the 1970s in Wirraway Street for more than $700,000 after being passed in at $690,000.
PJ Murphy Real Estate also had success in the area with a four bedroom house in Peards Drive selling under the hammer for $695,000.
Competition was strong for the five bedroom home in Palm Drive with eight bidders taking part at various stages of the auction.
Stean Nicholls also sold a home in Hodge Street for $495,000 and PJ Murphy also had success with a home in Milos Drive, Wodonga, which sold for $435,000.
Outside Albury-Wodonga, a two bedroom home backing onto Chinamen's Creek at Barnawartha sold to locals for $745,000.
Pre-auction expectation was the property would sell around $660,000, but hot competition saw the price driven up much higher.
"I was confident with four bidders we would get to the $660,000 mark, but to get to $745,000 is a fantastic result," Wodonga Real Estate's Clinton Harvey said.
In nearby Rutherglen, the Coral Tree building in High Street, which has previously been used as a bank, menswear store and most recently an antiques shop, also sold.
One bid on the property from a Howlong investor of $460,000 was accepted.
"It suited him down to the ground," BUR agent Tristan Wright said.
"He put his hand up pretty quick and blew anyone else who might have been interested out of the water.
"There was a lot of interest.
"A lot of people called up and did virtual inspections, but because they couldn't physically inspect it they were held back."
A townhouse and residence in central Wangaratta owned by the same family, the Heywoods, for almost 30 years were both passed in at auction.
The townhouse, Glewyndvilla, was passed in for $690,000 and next door, Colomendy, was passed in for $920,000.
Agent Garry Nash said he expected the two Warby Street properties to be snapped up shortly.
"With the amount of interest in discussion that has taken place since I don't think they will be around in the market place for too long," Mr Nash said.
