
The NSW Department of Education says Jindera Public School will be closed for cleaning and contact tracing, but Lavington East Public School will reopen today.
A NSW Education spokeperson said in a statement that Jindera Public School would be closed along with two other schools from outside the Riverina.
"[It] will be closed effective immediately until further notice for cleaning and contact tracing, after a school community member/s tested positive for COVID-19," the spokesperson wrote.
IN OTHER COVID NEWS:
"All staff and students are asked to self-isolate and follow the NSW Health advice and protocols.
"NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if you develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics."
Meanwhile, a member of the Lavington East Public School community tested positive to COVID-19 and the school had announced it would close on Saturday, but a NSW Education spokeperson said the school would reopen for staff and students on Monday, October 18.
"Students and staff identified as close contacts have been notified and asked to self-isolate for the required period and follow the NSW health advice and protocols," the spokesperson said.
