Osborne young gun Sam Stening has signed with Collingullie-Ashmont-Kapooka.
In a shock announcement, Stening is regarded as one of the most talented teenagers in the Hume league who is destined to play at a much higher standard.
The classy midfielder-forward is part of the GWS Giants Academy.
He stamped himself as a future AFL draft prospect after gaining selection in the 2019 NAB AFL Under-16 All Australian Team.
Osborne coach Joel Mackie said Stening's decision had caught him off guard.
"I thought Sam was going to play in Melbourne and was a bit shocked when he said he had signed at Collingullie," Mackie said.
"But he has a few school mates playing there and wants to have a season with them before moving.
"He was touted as a future AFL draft prospect but he seems to have fallen off the radar which surprises me because he was outstanding for us this year."
