North Albury's boom opening attack ripped out Tallangatta's two gun bats to set up victory in Cricket Albury-Wodonga on Saturday.
Jake Burge had captain-coach Matt Armstrong caught behind for one, while Haydyn Roberts bowled last season's leading run-scorer Shoaib Shaikh for a duck.
"Haydyn bowled back of a length, back of a length and he was shuffling around the crease trying to force things and he over-committed to a shot that wasn't quite there," North wicketkeeper Ben Fulford observed.
The visitors posted 8-106 with Phil Neville striking 33, while Burge (3-25) and Roberts (2-16) were outstanding.
