FEDERATION and Indigo councils have become the first in the Border region to surpass 95 per cent of eligible residents being vaccinated against COVID-19.
The latest data released on Monday had Moira (94.4 per cent) and Wangaratta (94.2) being next best.
Figures for other councils were 93.2 (Benalla), 92.9 (Towong), 92.7 (Alpine), 92 (Berrigan), 90.5 (Albury), 89.2 (Wodonga) and 89.1 (Greater Hume).

Federation mayor Pat Bourke and his Indigo counterpart Jenny O'Connor were rapt with the figures.
The data follows Federation winning an $8000 challenge over Berrigan, Indigo and Moira and to be first among the four.
Cr Bourke said the prizemoney would be spent on health needs before cheekily adding "we'll put a little bit aside for a commiseration card for the other shires".
With tongue in cheek, Cr O'Connor replied: "That's very generous of him, it's an act of great generosity, I'm bowled over."
