The 37-year-old has committed for the next three years at Lavington Sports Ground.
Schneider was contracted as an assistant coach of Greater Western Sydney for 2022.
But in a huge leap of faith, Schneider negotiated a release out of his contract to join the Panthers.
The Panthers were able to lure Schneider through football manager Graham Hart who got to know the former Osborne junior during his coaching stint at Osborne from 2006-2009.
Schneider is hoping to relocate from Sydney with his young family before Christmas, and is expected to take over pre-season training early in the new year.
Lavington president Mark Sanson was ecstatic to land a coach with AFL experience as recent as this season.
"Signing Adam is massive for our club," Sanson said.
"Not only for our club but the league as well.
"Adam has been involved in the AFL for the best part of the past two decades as a player and now coach.
"Graham (Hart) coaching Osborne was the initial contact with Adam and it all sort of grew legs from there.
"We were searching far and wide for the best candidate and are ecstatic as a club to be able to announce Adam as coach.

"That's why it has taken so long to announce a replacement for Simon Curtis.
"But we didn't panic and feel our patience has been rewarded in spades."
