The 37-year-old man's matter was listed before the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody.
His case will return to court on March 10.
EARLIER: Two men have been arrested following a stabbing that left a man seriously injured in Wodonga.
A 37-year-old Wodonga man and 34-year-old Albury man were arrested on Tuesday afternoon following an intensive investigation by detectives.
The older man has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury and affray.
He is due to face Wodonga court on Wednesday.
The other man must be extradited from Albury.

Detective Senior Sergeant Garry Barton said the case involved both Victorian and NSW police forces.
"The community can be assured we treat all weapons offences seriously, especially when a person has allegedly been hit with an edged weapon," he said.
"We threw a lot of police resources into this investigation and we thank the community for their assistance in providing information and dashcam footage.
"This is another example of Victorian and NSW police working hand in glove to fight crime."
The detective said police were still keen to speak to anyone with information or footage from the Wigelia Court and Magnolia Crescent area on Saturday morning.
