Tom Morrison claims the Archie Thompson medal as Twin City's best and fairest

Morrison polled 42 votes to take out Wanderers' best and fairest, finishing 12 clear of runners-up Cayne Wilhelm and Shane Hasler.

"It's a good way to finish the year after coming back from Melbourne," Morrison said.

"The season didn't finish how we wanted but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

"It's already a good standard and you can tell it's going to get better over the next couple of years."

Twin City, who finished seventh in Division 1 of the AWFA men's competition, managed to take points off joint-champions Albury United and Wangaratta.

"We've got a lot of experienced players so it's about trying to get everyone fit and have a full season with no breaks," Morrison said.

"This year was a big challenge, especially for a more mature team.

"With older boys, it takes a while to get back into things.

"Even a week off, where you can't train, it makes a huge difference.

"We're building new facilities so hopefully that brings some players back to the club next year."

Jarrod Murphy was best and fairest in the reserves, polling 20 votes, with runner-up Aaron Williams three back on 17.

David Janissen was a clear winner in the over-35s, claiming 30 votes.

It was much closer in the women's reserves, with Kobie Lyons (13) just one vote ahead of Lilly Brown (12).
