"Sometimes personalities and relationships are very hard to meter," Cr Mack said.
"I worked really hard with all those parties and really hard to keep the ship heading in the right direction.
"I thought that was done and dusted with, to be honest, and it's unfortunate now it's again raised its ugly head.
"It doesn't do good for relationships and doesn't really reflect the organisation as well as it could."
IN OTHER NEWS:
The mayor said he spoke to Cr King about it at the time.
"Yes I did, but that's a private conversation, however I urged him just to speak to the councillors involved and resolve it in that fashion," he said.
Cr King told The Border Mail he did not proceed after being told the matter would be addressed.
Cr Mack said he had not talked to Cr King about whether or not he should take legal action.
"I didn't discuss it at that level," he said.
"I asked him to go and speak to Amanda about it because it was just something he felt strongly about and I left it at that, and nothing else happened."
Cr van de Ven declined to speak to The Border Mail on Wednesday.
