The Belvoir all-rounder is one of three under-23 players included in the 13 to face Murrumbidgee Rangers in Griffith on Sunday.
McMillan, 21, has already benefitted from training alongside some of Cricket Albury-Wodonga's more established names in the build-up to the Regional Bash and was thrilled to hear his name read out when the team was announced.
"It's not every day you get to play with some of the best players in the comp so to be a younger bloke getting picked is pretty good," he said.
"Matt Condon has played NSW cricket so the 15 minutes you spend with him (in the nets at training) is very helpful.
"Just facing some of the bowlers here, you learn how they bowl and I love coming here."
McMillan has picked up six wickets for Belvoir this season and scored 72 runs, including 50 against reigning premiers Lavington in round one.
"Since making that 50, it's been going pretty poorly," he admitted.
"T20 cricket is hard to get into because you've got to go from the start and the team hasn't been performing as well as we'd like either.
"Hopefully, in the next few weeks, going into the one-dayers, I can step up and get back to my better form."

In the bigger picture, McMillan is proud of the progress he's made since stepping up to play senior cricket.
"A few years ago (in 2017/18), I could barely make a run," he said.
"I think I made 60 runs for the season but a couple of years later, I made 500. There's a lot of guys to credit for that like Drew Cameron and Dave Farrell, they've been awesome for me.
"The main thing was just to back myself.
"I had no confidence in my game, especially playing against all the A-grade guys, and learning how everyone plays.
"It was about me realising I am capable of making runs and taking wickets."
McMillan has taken on the vice-captaincy at Belvoir this season and while the Eagles have only managed two wins so far, he's enjoying the greater sense of responsibility.
"The vice-captaincy is good," McMillan said. "Being under Drew, he's a great leader, a good guy and he's put a lot of good things in place to try to make us a better team.
"I wanted to take it because I've got a good connection with the older guys and the younger guys in the team.
"I get along with everyone really well and I love spending time down at the club."
Belvoir face an 11am start away to East Albury today.
Then they face Wodonga at Les Cheesley Oval from 3pm in the inaugual Mental Health Round, with funds raised going to the Black Dog Institute.
