With provincial cricket returning to one-day mode, Brown took 4-43 from 10 overs and then blasted 72 not out from just 56 balls, in T20 style, as the Panthers saw off St Patrick's by six wickets.

Patties, the only side batting first to make it through their 50 overs, put up 9/185 but Lavington chased that down with more than 11 overs to spare.

Teenage opener Eddy Schultheis continued his superb form with a knock of 53, moving past 200 runs for the season, and was delighted to play his part in a dominant team performance.

"We're very pleased," Schultheis said. "We bowled well and backed it up with the bat.

"The plan was to bat long, at the top, and we had plenty of hard hitters at the back.

"I struggled a bit through the middle but it was good to get through that and reach a half-century.

"It's different from the T20s but I just tried to bat longer."

Patties opener Matt Crawshaw laid the platform for their innings with 60, including eight boundaries, with Nicholas Brown (33) and Angus Kilby (31) adding useful runs in the middle order.

But the blistering form of Nathan Brown, who smashed three sixes and seven fours, quickly took the game away from the visitors.

"He's delivered with both ball and bat and it was good to watch," Schultheis said after climbing to third in the provincial run charts.

"My own form's been alright; it's been good playing in the top grade.

"I've played a few games now and I feel like I've made that adjustment.

"As a team, we're only just starting to find our groove.

"Trying to play well towards the back-end of the season is our plan."

Albury, beaten by Lavington last weekend, bounced back with a convincing win over Belvoir at Kelly Park.

Shan Bhaiya showed his class once again, the medium-fast Indian ripping the heart out of the Eagles' batting line-up on his way to 5-19 from nine overs.

Bhaiya made his first-grade debut just three weeks ago but already he has 16 wickets to his name, with only North Albury's Tim Hartshorn and Callum Langlands having taken more scalps this season.

John Spencer (48) had earlier helped Albury to 178 all out, with Julian Butters (3-23) the pick of the Belvoir bowlers.

In reply, the Eagles were skittled out for just 67, with only two batters reaching double-figures.

Kade Brown picked up 3-18 and Corey McCarthy chipped in with 2-6 as Albury strolled to victory by 111 runs.

Albury (51) remains second, eight points behind North Albury (63), with Wodonga (39), Lavington (36), Corowa (33) and East Albury (33) completing the top-six.
