"We were fairly jealous of Kiewa," junior co-ordinator Geordie Graham, who applied on the club's behalf, admitted.

"There's a happy rivalry between the two of us and to only be $1000 behind them was unbelievable.

"Fundraising has been so difficult through COVID over the last two years.

"To see some of those massive sixes, knowing it was all helping the club, was awesome.

"We do everything as volunteers. We have to buy mowers, a sprinkler system, a roller and we work really hard to raise funds. That'll be a real help for us, to continue with the great things our club is doing at the moment.

"Ben McDermott was phenomenal. It was scary how far he was hitting it.

"I think we could manage him a couple of Lights if he turned up at the club!

"People in my network are in his network so we'll get in contact and he will get something from Yack Cricket Club, absolutely."
