ALBURY HARNESS ON NEW YEAR'S EVE WITH PAUL BROWN
It's been another forgettable year with COVID but we can still make it a New Year's Eve to remember on the punt. Paul Brown has studied the form and has provided three best bets and a quaddie which he assures us will provide more bang for your buck than any firecracker.

RACE 1 - ESTHER RISING
Is a two-year-old filly competing against the older horses. Bad manners proved costly for Esther earlier this preparation but she has been on her best behaviour in her past two starts. Finished runner-up at Wagga two starts back before winning her most recent start on the same track. Has a tricky draw to overcome but against moderate opposition can continue her winning ways.
RACE 4 - SPORT MENTAL
Has to overcome a bad draw but that should equate to a better price because I think the bookies should be prepared to take her on. Sport Mental crosses the border after racing in much stronger company in Victoria. Is going to have to do work at some stage to get into the race but with even luck in running can be charging over the top of this bunch late.
RACE 7 - UNDER FIRE LOMBO
I expect the David Kennedy-trained Shes My Little Gem to start favourite from the good ally but I'm convinced Under Fire Lombo is the horse to beat. Will strip fitter after finishing third when resuming at Wagga recently. I expect Under Fire Lombo to improve sharply second-up and rate her the best of the night from the nice trailing draw. The more you put on, the more you get back.

QUADDIE
Wouldn't be surprised to see a few rough results in the quaddie legs but have decided to go relatively skinny in the hope of jagging a bigger percentage.

SECOND LEG: 3-4-10
THIRD LEG: 1-8
FOURTH LEG: 1-5-9
