Defence lawyer Tim Hemsley said he understood the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was going to elect to take over the prosecution of Christopher Kramer's matters from police.
Mr Hemsley told Albury Local Court magistrate Richard Funston there was an allegation that Kramer had a loaded shotgun in his car when pulled over by police.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Kramer, wearing a red T-shirt emblazoned with an "adidas" logo, did not make any comment during his brief appearance before Mr Funston via a video link to the Albury police station cells.
"My instructions are not to make a bail application today but there may be an application in the future," Mr Hemsley said.
Kramer, 31, of Dick Road, has been charged with firing a firearm in or near a public place at Splitters Creek on December 14, between midnight and 1am.
Further allegations made from that same time involved domestic violence-related charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intimidation.
Kramer is also facing several other firearms-related charges, including using an unauthorised pistol, use a prohibited pistol, use an unregistered firearm and aggravated possession of an unregistered firearm in a public place without authority.
These charges related to an incident that allegedly took place that same day in Lavington, just after 2pm
Kramer's matters will return to court on January 18.
