The 18-year-old stamped his class in his first full season of senior football in 2021, finishing second behind Bulldogs skipper Jack Haggar in the best and fairest award.

A versatile, tall player, Glanvill thrived when given the added responsibility of playing through the midfield.

The Bulldogs endured a stuttering season, but he was influential in late win over top for sides Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes and Wagga Tigers, before the season shutdown robbed them of a chance to press for finals.

New Panthers coach Adam Schneider, who Glanvill knows well through their association with Greater Western Sydney Giants Academy, has made no secret he intends to play the long game and bank on youth to rebuild the club.

Glanvill will begin studying physiotherapy at Albury this year, which made the decision to step up to Ovens and Murray a little easier.

"I know a few people down there and with uni it was always in the back of my mind to try and play footy down there," Glavnill said.

"He (Schneider) was one of the main reasons.

"I liked they're bringing in the younger blokes over the next few years, trying to regenerate with their youth and give them a crack and try and be competitive the next few years.

"It was hard leaving Turvey, they're a good club with a good culture but I always wanted to push myself by having a crack at the O and M, and moving down to Albury made the decision a bit easier.

"Last year gave me a good bit of confidence, getting backing from the coaches and playing through the midfield. But I'll never know until I try."

Turvey Park coach Michael Mazzocchi has publicly stated he believes Glanvill is eventually capable of playing state level football.

I'll see what happens the next few years but it's always in the back of your mind to test yourself and play the best footy you can," Glanvill said.

"Last year was a bit annoying (with COVID shutdown), everyone was in the same boat though so there's not much you can do, it happens.

"We beat a couple of good sides (Tigers and MCUE) and we were starting to play some good footy towards the end of the year, hopefully we finish the season off this time."

Schneider took training on several occasions at Lavington Sports Ground before Christmas.

He is in the process of relocating to the border.
