National cabinet has met to discuss ways to prevent domestic and family violence in a snap meeting following a spike in deaths of women

* The federal government will fund a $925 million program over five years that will help women escaping a violent or abusive relationship, called the leaving violence program
* Eligible people will receive $5000 in financial support, which will be made up of $1500 in cash and $3500 in goods and services
* Those accessing the program will be able to gain referrals to support services as well as safety assessments
* Laws will be introduced to crack down on misogynistic behaviour and attitudes online, including a ban on the creation and distribution of deepfake pornography
* A trial will also be carried out on age assurance products to protect children online from pornography or other age-restricted content
* An ad campaign will be rolled out online from June for a year that will challenge misogynistic attitudes towards women on online platforms
* Classification reform will also be examined by jurisdictions in order to reduce exposure to violent pornography
* Legislation will also be brought forward to federal parliament in early August that would ban doxxing, or the public release of private information done with the intent to cause harm
* Federal, state and territory police ministers and attorney-general will also work to improve police responses to high-risk or serial perpetrators of violence against women
* National cabinet also agreed to improve the sharing of information about perpetrators across jurisdictions
