Firefighters were called to a camping area off Forges Pump Lane about 10am on Monday.
An electrical fault appeared to have sparked a large blaze which destroyed the motorhome.
Senior Constable Leah Booth said nobody had been inside at the time.
"It was their permanent home," she said.
"There were no injuries - they weren't there at the time.

"It appears to be an accidental fire, it seemed like it might have been some sort of electrical fault."
A large number of firefighters attended the scene and police blocked off public access to the camping area.
Smoke was visible from a long distance away.
There were initial concerns that people and a dog were inside.
Meanwhile Albury police are investigating a vehicle fire on Racecourse Road.
Firefighters were called to the incident about 10pm on Sunday.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and the incident handed over to police.
