Britt Hill and the Fusion Heat are ready for the second half of the Rawson Homes A Grade Premiership to begin on Saturday. The Heat will take on St Groovers after all competitions have had almost a month off due to school holidays. The two sides have met once this season already in which the Heat registered a comfortable 74-35 win back in round two. "It will definitely be a test of fitness to see if the three weeks off have affected any of us. "But super keen to get back on the court with the girls and just play netball I guess." Hill feels the focus for the Heat of the remaining matches is to continue to improve their skills. "We definitely have things to improve," she said. "I would say having a strong start and finish. "We tend to start a bit slow so focusing on coming out stronger and finishing strong as well." The Heat currently sit second on the ladder behind the Narromine Hawks but Hill admitted they are not looking too far ahead. "[We are] Currently just taking it a week at a time and a game at a time," she said. "Working on things each, we know we aren't perfect but just trying to work new combos because we have a lot of new girls to the team. "Just working out new combinations and trying to get the gel back." Hill knows the side is keen to make the finals which was one of their main goals for the season. "Definitely, that's a big goal for us," she said. Hill admitted she was not going to play this season but after just a few games on the sideline she could not resist returning to the court. "I was going to have a year off so I missed three or four games and then I couldn't help myself and decided to make a return. "It's good to be back on the court with the girls, I definitely missed it and just to have some of our old girls back like Hannah Allen who has been super helpful this comp." Narromine are currently undefeated and lead the competition ahead of the Heat. Sitting in second is something unfamiliar to the Heat, after they have dominated the last several seasons in which they have won four consecutive titles. Hill had nothing but praise for coach Tash Robinson who has led the side for the last few seasons. "I love it, Tash is I would say is our go to girl," she said. "She's good with feedback in positive ways and I literally look at her and she keeps me calm and sane. "I say to her if you're not there, I don't know how I can do it. "She's definitely a big part of the team on and off the court. "Everyone just loves her being around and being there for us." The Narromine Hawks will face the Dubbo Rhinos Rebels while Nyngan are set to take on Fusion Wild. Next weekend, all eyes will be on the Heat and Narromine who have been the top two sides so far this season. The top sides are set to meet for the second time this season after Narromine won the first encounter. Our journalists work hard to provide local, up-to-date news to the community.
