The group is led by the internationally renowned soprano Penny Pavlakis.
"Every girl has something different to draw on,” she says.
"Collectively we're like a powerhouse, we touch the hearts of our audiences.
"It's an original world-class, beautifully delivered show. Our audiences are never disappointed."
Pavlakis has performed throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Boasting more than 1000 performances world-wide and a working history with the biggest names including Dame Joan Sutherland, Richard Bonynge, Baz Luhrman and the late conductor, composer and arranger Tommy Tycho.
People come and it's just one surprise after the other. They leave the venue thinking 'wow'.
- Penny Pavlakis
"Pavlakis has no serious competitor on the world stage, whether it’s classical or contemporary, she really is magnificent,” Tycho once said.
Before joining The Ten Sopranos Pavlakis had forged a successful international career at singing competitions, as well as performing on television variety programs in Australia while in her teens and earlery 20s.
She draws her inspiration from Greek-American soprano Maria Callas.
"She was the pioneer at starting this, she was all the rage in the 50s and 60s incorporating this modern and classic style," Pavlakis says.
"Now she's a legend. She was just as distinct as Dame Joan Sutherland."
Since The Ten Sopranos formed in 2007, audiences have been so moved by the performances that some have left theatres in tears while others have left exhilarated.
Pavlakis says The Ten Sopranos caters for modern audiences.
"You're not going to come in and hear 10 women screaming at the tops of their voices,” she says. “There's a lot of nuances and technique and artistry in what we do.
"The crossover act fuses the contemporary and the classical … it educates people about classical music.
"People come and it's just one surprise after the other. They leave the venue thinking 'wow'.”
