Norths upset Hockey Albury-Wodonga division one men’s leaders Magpies in impressive fashion during their clash on Sunday.

The 5-1 result has left the competition wide open.
Norths played the early ball and caught the Magpies’ defenders off guard with their tight play.
Larry Simpson scored two early goals, followed by Jade Taylor with another two goals, putting them well in front.
Norths started the second half strong, but Magpies began to fight back with young attacker Josh Lavis scoring their first goal.
However, Norths hit the scoreboard again, finishing with a comprehensive 5-1 win.
In the other games, CR United thrashed Wombats, 6-0, while Wodonga took care of Falcons, 7-3.
Wodonga also recorded an impressive win over Falcons in the women’s competition, finishing up with a 7-2 triumph.
In the top of the table clash, Wodonga came out firing and were very effective in attack, with their midfield cutting off anything dangerous as they raced to a 5-1 half-time lead.
The second half proved to be a much more even contest, with Falcons winning several penalty corners.
They converted one, while Wodonga scored a further two field goals to end the game at 7-2.
Ally Hughson was great in attack for Wodonga with four goals.
CR United edged out Wombats 3-2, while Norths drew 2-2 with Magpies.
