In the men’s, Falcons drew 2-2 with Magpies.
In a match that was vital to both sides with the final place in the top four at stake, Falcons opened the scoring in the early stages with a tomahawk goal from Charley Wallace.
Magpies came out hard in the second half with Simon Wright scoring, but not to be outdone, Falcons hit back with another goal to Wallace.
After the weather break, Magpies’ Rhys McPherson converted a short corner to level the match.
CR United defeated Wodonga 5-2, while Norths thrashed Wombats 7-1.
In the women’s competition, CR United held the second-placed Wodonga to a 2-2 draw.
United scored first through Grace Ronnfeldt, but Wodonga fought back as Summer Sutherland made it 1-1 at the break.
The second half of the game was dominated by the midfield of both sides, with the ball seesawing to either end of the field.
United took the initiative after the rain with Tess Palubiski scoring a field goal, but as the weather cleared, Sutherland put away her second for Wodonga to snatch a draw.
Hannah Oberin’s great work in defence was key to limiting Wodonga’s opportunities.
Wombats edged out Norths 3-2, while Falcons beat Magpies 2-1.
