The second series of the rock music festival was confirmed on Sunday night and will hit the Border on Saturday, March 2.
Quatro is back by popular demand, after sold-out tours in 2014 and 2018, starring at Mulwala’s Red Hot Summer show earlier this year.
In January more than 3500 fans on the lawns of the Mulwala Water Ski Club saw Quatro perform her classic rock hits, supported by some of Australia’s best rock acts of the past 30 years.
Promoter Duane McDonald says the decision to bring Quatro back to Australia in 2019 for series two of the Red Hot Summer Tour was an easy one.
“Suzi is the queen of rock and audiences have always loved when she is part of the tour,” he said.
“We are thrilled to have her return to play these special venues.
“To have such a top icon on top of this incredible bill certainly makes this one of the hottest shows this summer.
“This really is the ultimate rock n roll line-up – we can’t wait to head out for these shows, they are going to go off.”
The Wodonga concert will feature the same line-up as last summer’s Mulwala show – The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish.
For more than 40 years The Angels have pumped out some of the best Aussie pub rock anthems, such as Take A Long Line, Marseille, Shadow Boxer and Am I Ever Gong To See your Face Again.
Lead singer Dave Gleeson will also front original band The Screaming Jets who this month release a new album – Gotcha Covered – billed as the Great Australian Song Book album.
Fans who caught The Screaming Jets at the Red Hot Summer show at Mulwala in January had a taste of what’s in store on the new album with covers of Easybeats’ Wedding Ring and AC/DC’s Rock’n’Roll Damnation.
“We’ve been thinking about doing a covers album for a long time, it’s just the songs that we like,” Screaming Jets’ Paul Woseen told The Border Mail.
“We’ve stayed true to the melody but done our own arrangement of them, we Jettified them for want of a better description.”
Gateway Lakes tickets go on sale on July 12, only through Ticketmaster, while Series 3 venues and dates will be announced on July 15.
