Norelle Webb, Anni Connelly, Pat Johnson and Chris Denby staved off a strong finish to set up the win.
The other match saw Huckstepp navigate the close rubbers against McHarg, before completing a five sets to one salute.
Sally Bulle, Ros Frawley, Karen Plested and Dee Gordon lifted in the final two rubbers to see Bulle trump Spencer in section one.
