Aaron Gordon Hollands is one of several people who have now fronted Albury Local Court facing charges where the victim is the same ACT-based anaesthetist.
But while there have been others convicted of an almost identical crime, none of the matters have been linked.
Hollands, 40, was charged with a single Commonwealth count of obtain a financial advantage by deception.
The court was told that Hollands, of Blair Street, lodged his claim, on January 16, 2018, via the Medicare Express Plus app.
The claim was for four anaesthetist services purportedly provided by Dr Danny-Glen Raiz.
As a result of the claim, for which he then uploaded the false invoice, Medicare refunded Hollands a total of $4336.10.
The prosecution told magistrate Rodney Brender that Hollands "knew he was not entitled to receive" this refund.
Dr Raiz later provided a witness statement confirming that he did not provide any of the services claimed by Hollands.
MORE LOCAL NEWS:
Before he received the payment, Hollands had just $2.62 in his bank account.
On the same day as getting the money he transferred $300 to another man, then made a cash withdrawal of $1000.
The next day he transferred $1000 to a woman then made separate withdrawals of $1000 and $600.
Mr Brender ordered the preparation of a sentence assessment report.
The case was adjourned to June 25.
