Sheena Storrie will take charge of Sunday's senior women's clash between St Pats and Melrose - to be played at the usual senior men's time slot of 3pm.
Storrie hopes the round will attract more women to the sport.
"Hopefully it will encourage more to get involved," she said.
"There's a couple of young girls up and coming (as referees), but it would be good to get a lot more."
