Tumbarumba signs brother of Carlton midfielder Matthew Kennedy

Kennedy, the older brother of Carlton and former GWS midfielder, Matthew, joins the Roos for the rest of the season from Collingullie-Glenfield Park.

A connection with Tumbarumba captain Quinn Rooney and Zach Stevens was the deciding factor towards getting Kennedy across.

Roos' coach Mitch Fennessy is rapt to have him on board and expects he will make an instant impact.

"They (Kennedy, Rooney ans Stevens) have been talking about wanting to have a year together and it worked out that everything fell into place and this is the year they could," Fennessy said.

"I'm looking forward to having him in the side.

"I would imagine he'll line up on the ball straight away.

"He's had a bit of a shoulder issue in pre-season and just got himself right. Fingers crossed he's right to go.

"He heard from the physio yesterday (on Monday) that he'll be right to play."

Tumbarumba has also added North Bendigo utility Luke Vivian ahead of Saturday's clash with Corryong - the side pushing it for fourth spot and a finals berth.

"We're just looking to top ourselves up for the back end of the year, so they'll both come in this weekend," Fennessy said.

"If we can win this week, it can set us up for the rest of the year.

"We played them (Corryong) round one and it's going to be a totally different side to what we faced that day.

"It's a good thing. You don't want to be winning by 120 or 130 points against a side you're battling for the same position.

"You want a healthy competition.

"I'd love to go into the bye three and three, it will be good."

Tumbarumba enters the clash in reasonable form having pushed reigning premiers Bullioh for a half last weekend and trailed Federal by three points at the final change a week earlier, before fading late.

"They're (Bullioh) obviously a good side and we had five or six guys out, so I was really happy to stick with them for a half," Fennessy said.

"It was disappointing we didn't stick with them longer, but their class prevailed in the end.

"I was disappointed we didn't beat Feds either."

The Roos also hope to have Ryan Kirkwood, Travis Collison and Mick Foster back on the park for the Corryong clash.

Cudgewa meets Bullioh and will look to avenge its one-point loss from round one.
