He congratulated member for Benambra Bill Tilley and member for Albury Justin Clancy in arranging the health round table on June 14.
"Of course I and other medical practitioners welcome any collaborative and bipartisan discussion and planning to address the health infrastructure and funding gaps that we have in the region," Dr Underhill said.
"I have been a specialist here for 20 years and this is one of the most positive initiatives in that time.
"I congratulate Mr Tilley and Mr Clancy for responding to our concerns in this way.
"If we want to address regional health outcomes we cannot continue 'business as usual' and I very much look forward to the round table."
"I'm a bit tired of the harping and moaning of a minority section of our medical fraternity over Albury Wodonga Health," he said.
"We had the usual suspects and a failed candidate in the media with their baseball bats having a swing at my political head.
"It has been something Justin and I have been working on for a while.
"It will bring together all the people who matter in a bid to define a clear vision and direction for the health service's future."
