The male driver has been taken by ambulance to Albury Base Hospital and the ute towed away.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the Victorian driver, 65, was initially trapped in the vehicle and suffering with chest pain.
"He was taken by road ambulance to Albury Base Hospital in a stable condition," she said.
Three ambulance units attended the crash at Urangeline East, with the call-out made at 3.44pm.
EARLIER: Emergency services are on the scene of a car crash between Walbundrie and Lockhart on Saturday afternoon.
It is believed a car hit a tree on Lockhart Road north of Walbundrie about 4pm, with ambulance, police and State Emergency Service personnel called to the area.
A NSW police spokeswoman said soon after 5pm workers were still trying to remove a person from the vehicle, but she had no details then about any injuries.
The male driver was extricated about 5.15pm and put in an ambulance for transport to hospital.
Other cars were still being allowed to pass the scene on the rural road.
