Brody Compton pleaded guilty in Wodonga Magistrates Court to the drunken incident where his girlfriend called the police.
Police told the court on Wednesday Compton had been drinking at a Wodonga address on June 16, 2018 when his behaviour turned violent after an argument with his girlfriend.
Compton snapped a broom, punched a hole in the wall and pushed furniture over before his girlfriend called police.

When police arrived at 11.30pm they heard yelling from a back room.
The court heard Compton asked who the police officers were before throwing a punch.
He was wrestled onto the bed by two officers and was handcuffed because he was resisting arrest.
When asked by police why he caused the criminal damage he said he was "just pissed off".
Magistrate Stella Stuthridge said he was "clearly fully tanked".
"But it doesn't sound really nice that you were drunk, had a fight with your girlfriend and she had to call the police," she said.
"This is clearly not a productive place for the two of you."
Compton, who defended himself in court, told Ms Stuthridge that he and his girlfriend planned to move to Sydney for a "fresh start".
"We want to move tomorrow to my Aunty's place and start a job up there maybe in construction or something," he said.
Ms Stuthridge said this was a "positive step".
The court also heard Compton had an old community corrections order which he had only completed six of the 140 hours of community work.
He was handed a $1000 fine.
