News Girl stamped herself as a filly of above average ability after finishing runner-up at Caulfield on successive occasions in January and February.
The three-year-old filly has not raced since running sixth at Caulfield in early April.

Duryea told Sky Racing he was keen to give News Girl a few more starts against her own age group before tackling the older horses.
"I'm keen to get three races under her belt before she turns four," Duryea said.
"We have a high opinion of her and she surprised me how easy she made the step-up to city class last preparation.
"Generally with country horses and especially fillies they need a trip to the city to adapt to the atmosphere and tempo of racing
"But she took it in her stride which is a real bonus.
"You head to the races and she just wants to be a race horse."
