MILESTONE MAN
Thurgoona's Jacob Bruce notched his 150 match milestone last weekend against Barnawartha. Bruce played his first senior match for the Bulldogs in 2009 and has proven to be a reliable goalkicker for a decade. He booted 68 goals in 2016 including five in the Bulldogs grand final triumph over Mitta United.
MELLIER RETURNS
Thurgoona midfielder Lucas Mellier appears to be on track for the Bulldogs flag assault after returning to the seniors against Barnawartha last weekend. Mellier played reserves the previous two rounds. The classy ball-winner has been missing since round 2 after he suffered a fractured shin just below the knee and tore his meniscus.
CAUTIOUS TIGERS
Barnawartha are expected to take a cautious approach with star forwards Peter Cook and Josh Spence with the finals fast approaching. Both missed last weekend's clash against Thurgoona with calf injuries The pair are unlikely to return before the round 17 clash against Kiewa Sandy Creek which will have a huge bearing on who gains the double chance during the finals series.
