The Splitters Creek Rural Fire Brigade has spent $17,000 to replace stolen equipment and install the fully monitored alarm and HD CCTV to ensure the brigade doesn't "become a victim again".
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We have also spent over $5000 on a fully monitored alarm and HD CCTV system covering all angles of the building and the reserve as well as fortifying the walls of the station to ensure we don't become a victim again," the brigade said in a Facebook post.
"Money that should be spent on equipment to better protect the community and our firefighters, not to protect the equipment we already have."
The brigade was broken into in January with thieves taking off with more than $12,000 worth of vital firefighting gear.
All stations across the region will have the systems in place in the lead up to the fire season.
