Evans was gobsmacked to have taken out the award for the second season in a row at the league's best and fairest on Monday night, admitting the award is still just as special as it was the first time.
"You think after you get these things that they'll move onto the next person, but I was pretty chuffed," Evans said.
"Being that it's something that's voted on by your peers it adds that extra layer because you don't expect that feedback.
"For those guys to vote for me two years in a row, it means a lot."
Evans has once again steered Kiewa Sandy Creek to finals with the Hawks finishing the regular season third.

Hawks star shooter Haylee Penny made the team of the year's starting seven for the second year in a row, while gun defender Ellen Cook was also in the seven after being named in the 12-player squad last season.
Evans said while it was great to see her players acknowledged, it was equally as pleasing to see such a wide spread of players acknowledged across the league.
The Hawks will kick off their finals campaign against top-two side Rutherglen this weekend, with the Cats having the leagues premier player in Emily Browne at their disposal.
"We rate Rutherglen really highly," Evans said.
"Obviously Em Browne has done really well and leads that team amazingly.
'We know we'll have a challenge on our hands.
"Finals is a special time of the year and there's an extra spring in your step when you head to Sandy Creek.
"We're excited to test ourselves against the best teams."
Kiewa Sandy-Creek will be looking to go one better this season after they fell to Tallangatta in the grand final last year by five goals.
The Hawks and Cats will clash on Saturday.
