BRENT GODDE: Are you surprised Kiewa Sandy Creek missed the top-three considering it boasts a stronger list than last season after winning the flag?
PHIL PACKER: At the start of the season I don't think many would have had Kiewa outside their top-two. The Hawks have certainly had an interesting year which from the outside looking in, is confusing. I can only imagine what Muddy (Adam Mudra) has had to put up with over the season with injury and unavailability. But is there list as strong as last year or are they just a year older? History tells you that when Kiewa win a flag they never go back to back. It's generally after they lose one that they come good. Are they hungry enough this season?
BG: Are the Hawks one dimensional in attack and rely too heavily on Guy Telford to kick a winning score?
PP: No, I think the Hawks have learnt by previous mistakes. Big Telford can spray a few and the Hawks will be hoping he packs his kicking boots on Sunday.
IN OTHER NEWS
BG: There is injury clouds over Tallangatta's Kaine Parsons and James Breen. Can they manufacture enough goals to win if both miss with injury?
PP: If that's correct I can't see them kicking enough goals to win this match.
BG: Kiewa Sandy Creek coach Adam Mudra is considered one of the smartest coaches tactically in the league. Do you expect him to have a few tricks up his sleeve on Sunday?
PP: I think we can. Don't be surprised to see Michael Thompson spend time up forward. Also Jack Di Mizio can be lethal if given any space up forward and it could be another way Mudra could try and exploit the Hoppers defence.
BG: Who are you tipping and why?
PP: I'm tipping the Hawks in an arm wrestle. Purely because of their experience and ability to kick a winning score.
