With these few, short words Andrew Kaye summed up the sentiment behind the outpouring of community support after the shock death of Talgarno mum Danelle Filby.
Her grieving husband James Filby and their four sons were left reeling after she died suddenly on July 28, only days after becoming unwell with flu-like symptoms.
Mr Filby himself spent three weeks in intensive care at Albury hospital fighting for his life with pneumonia and a collapsed right lung.
"I had to put my grief aside and fight for my boys," he said in a heart-breaking interview last week.
As Mr Filby battled to get well, the tight-knit community of Talgarno rallied behind their sons Taj, 15, Zane, 14, Ari, 10, and Lawson, 9.
A gofundme campaign was immediately launched to help with funeral expenses as well as ongoing living and education costs for the boys and on Tuesday had reached $38,500 of a $100,000 fundraising goal.
Mrs Filby home-schooled all four boys and arrangements now have to be made for their ongoing education with the two younger children currently attending Talgarno Primary School.
This Sunday, September 1 - fittingly on Father's Day - a charity fun day will be held at Bethanga Golf Club to help fund the "long road ahead".
The day includes a mega raffle, golf, kids' games, and a huge charity auction with major prizes donated by local residents and companies.
From a hot air balloon ride to a group paintball voucher, wine and window tinting, there is a huge offering of auction items up for grabs.
Meanwhile Mr Kaye, the director of AK Project Solutions, Albury where Mr Filby is employed as a project manager, has expressed his gratitude to the local building supply network for their help to finish the home the couple had been building themselves for three years.
While companies donated huge amounts of materials, tradespeople and residents donated their time to create a comforting space for Mr Filby and his sons to return to once he has regained his strength.
Mr Kaye described Mr Filby as a good friend and a "passionate and intelligent" employee who loved being involved in the community.
"We are a tight-knit team here and this hits close to home," he said.
"Everywhere you turn ... I think this story has affected everyone - it cuts deep."
Mr Kaye said it would take time for Mr Filby to be back to full capacity and he and the boys needed time to grieve and re-establish a "new normal".
"If we can just take some of the pressure away and help in some way," he said.
"It would have been bittersweet coming back to an unfinished house that was their dream.
"But with the enormity of the task (James) faces being a father to four boys, it would have been nigh on impossible to finish the house as well."
Fun day organisers are asking that anyone interested in attending Sunday's event to please RSVP on Facebook for catering purposes.
"Yes, we know it's on Father's Day - we're trying to help a young father raise his family - so what better day to do it!" the Facebook page says.
"(And) if you can't come, please consider donating to the gofundme page set up by Talgarno Primary School."
- The charity day is 11am - 4pm, entry $30 ($60 for families) which includes golf and BBQ lunch - cash only. For details go to Filby Family Charity Fun Day Facebook page.
