Magpies had their chances at the start, but Norths' defence stood up and ended up overpowering them.
Veteran Ian Beath finished with a brace for Norths, while his son, Kurt, and Ewan Kelly were also on target.
Joe Forster and Jeremy Maggs scored for Magpies.
They will take on minor premiers CR United in the grand final next Sunday.

Magpies stunned Wodonga in extra time in the division one women's preliminary final to set up a grand final clash with reigning premiers Falcons.
Scores were locked at 1-1 after regulation, with Summer Sutherland scoring the match-winner from a short corner.
Wodonga opened their account in the second quarter with a goal from Kyrie Hardwick.
Both teams continued to attack and create multiple chances, but the defence from both teams stood firm.
Ellie Jarrett kept Magpies' season alive, finding the back of the net with five minutes to go.
In the first period of extra time, Magpies continued to pressure the Wodonga defence, but Wodonga turned defence into counter attacks.
However, with a minute-and-a-half to go in the second period of extra time, Magpies snatched victory thanks to a well-taken short corner from Sutherland.
