After a successful inaugural tournament last year, the event has doubled in size with 10 teams to compete at Wodonga's La Trobe University on October 26 and 27.
Wodonga Bears and Albury Blues will be joined by Wangaratta, Tumbarumba-Batlow, Frankston, Casey, Waverley, Truganina, Victoria Stormers and the Victoria Police Vikings.
Event organiser Tavale Illalio is thrilled to be bringing masters back to the Border.
"Wodonga is a perfect spot. It's on the Border, it's central and it's a nice drive from Melbourne," he said.
"We're really happy to be coming back here.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"We initially thought about rotating it around the state, but if we can lock Wodonga in long-term, we'll be happy.
"We're getting support from Wodonga Council's event attraction department and we've built a great relationship with Wodonga Storm and Edwards Tavern.
"Five local accommodation providers are providing discounts, so there's been a real buy-in from everyone here."
The annual Blue Ribbon Cup will be played between Victoria Police and Wodonga Storm on the Saturday afternoon of the weekend.
"If you want to come see elite stuff, don't come and watch masters (laughs), but if they want to see some good rugby league for a good cause come along," Illalio said.
"We want to have a brand where families are involved.
"Victoria is the only state that has grown in rugby league numbers."
Masters rugby league is for men aged over 35 and women over 30.
